We are always looking for people to help us out at the sanctuary!

Volunteers are essential for the running of the sanctuary as we would not be able to do what we do without the selfless work of people like you. We love to work with people who are PASSIONATE ABOUT ANIMALS and want to make a positive change in the world. There are so many different ways you can help us out, and it doesn’t matter where in the world you live!

Here are just a few ideas of how you can become a MVFS volunteer and help the animals:

Helping at the Sanctuary

If you are live in Galicia or you are visiting the area, why not come to the sanctuary and get your hands dirty? We have an endless amount of work that needs doing and the more hands the better. We need volunteers to help with mucking out animal houses, clearing up the pens, clearing land for new pens, building fences and housing, and of course, spending time with the animals.

Right now we don’t have any accommodation available on site so we are only able to accept volunteers who can stay in the local area. If this is something you are interested then please get in touch!

We are blessed to be living in Spain in this beautiful part of the world, but it does have its challenges! Our Spanish is far from perfect, and we always need help with translation work. If you are fluent in English and Spanish and enjoy translating, we need your help! We are building a team of volunteers who can help us to translate articles, social media posts, leaflets, and anything else that we produce. Drop us an email if you are passionate about doing this on a regular basis.

Fundraising is a great way to raise money for the sanctuary and you can have a lot of fun doing it.  There are hundreds of ways to fundraise, and the best part of all is that you can get creative and put your unique skills to use and make money for animals doing what you do best, whether that’s arts and crafts, baking delicious treats in the kitchen, or planning a beneficiary event.  All we ask is that your fundraising activities do not support animal industries in any way (so don’t sell ham sandwiches for the animals because Tuttle wouldn’t like it!)

Spreading the Message

If you’re a social person and you simply love to network and talk with others, why not help us to spread the message about the sanctuary far and wide? If you would like some promotional materials to hand out on the streets or in local shops, please get in touch.

*Please note – When visiting the sanctuary please bring your own food and drinks as we are unable to provide these. We also ask that out of respect for the animals you do not consume animal products on site (meat, fish, dairy, eggs).
